Catelyn and I are most excited for this year. We hope our work will transcend the lives of current students and redefine the SFC. We are most proud of what we have accomplished thus far in the year, with bringing breakfast back and getting student discounts at all the favorite food spots near school.
Our guiding slogan is “for the happiness of the students,” and the team is most excited to work for you. The SFC is currently composed of three tenth-grade representatives: Iheoma Ejiogu, Evelyn Wang, and Ethan Kim. Three eleventh-grade representatives, Leo Sternberg, Ansel Effah, and Julia Rosenthal. Four Twelfth Grade representatives, Alex Oh, Reese Moriarty, and co-presidents, Catelyn So and Benjamin Reich. And three ninth-grade representatives will join us at the end of the month.
As we think on the future of our presidency and what we want our overarching goal to be, we think about this past homecoming. I had the pleasure of meeting Riverdale alumni from the class of 1970. I was amazed by how proud they were to be Riverdale Alumni and how much they still cared for the school. They were overjoyed to watch the football game and be back on campus. They described how many of the school facilities have changed, but the overall character has remained the same. This truly stuck with me, and it reminded me of the presidential mission: We hope in the future, Riverdale students will graduate and look back on their high school years in the same fondness as those alumni did on this homecoming.
It always brightens our day when students come up to us with requests. Please continue to approach us with any and all questions, comments, and concerns.
