Parting Words from Graduating Editors - Olivia Weller
RR: What was your position on the Riverdale Review?
OW: I was a writer for the sports section and then became the culture section co-editor, and then I also did all the mini crosswords on the back.
RR: Why did you join the Review?
OW: I’ve always wanted to be part of the school newspaper, and it’s something that I want to continue in college as well. So I wanted to be exposed to it and join that community in high school.
RR: What was your favorite part about being on the review?
OW: I loved working with my co-culture section editor, Layla Kapadia, and I really liked working with her. And so that was one of my favorite parts. And then I also loved making the crosswords.
RR: What’s a highlight or funny story you have from your time on the Review?
OW: I’ve never learned how to do InDesign. Layla would always do it for our section, but I’ve just never learned, despite all the times I think it was Mr. Ringh or someone came in from the tech department to try to teach it to us. I’ve just never done it.
