Riverdale Review: What is your role in the Riverdale community?

Lucy Van Atta: I teach middle and upper school English… Oh wait, I realized for the first question, should I say eighth and tenth grade, specifically? Oh, and I also teach sixth grade homebase

RR: What are your hopes for this school year?

LVA: I’m hoping to develop my skills as an English teacher, connect with my students and help them grow as writers and thinkers, and take advantage of all the opportunities that Riverdale has for faculty. I guess that seems a little vague, but there are so many

RR: What’s your favorite thing about the fall season?

LVA: I love seeing the leaves change. I live pretty close to Prospect Park, so I like going for walks in Prospect Park and seeing the fall foliage, but also around the campus here. And also, and I guess just kind of like, feeling cozy inside as the weather gets colder.
